On October 26, 2005, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), notified the public of its investigation of Biomedial Tissue Services, Ltd. (BTS) of Ft. Lee, NJ. This company has reportedly harvested tissues against FDA protocols, and has sent them for implantation into pateients between hat is roughly believed to be the time period of May, 2002 to September, 2005. BTS is currently under indictment in New York for its illegal human harvesting procedures, which include but are not limited to the illegal and unauthorized removal of tissues from cadavers for implantation into healthy subjects.
