The fraternity pledge was put into the back of a pick-up truck in an attempt to scare him. The fraternity brothers drove the truck in a dangerous manner and lost control of the truck and hit a tree, injuring the pledge brother/Plaintiff . The Plaintiff had been put in the back of the truck and blindfolded. The case was filed in a rural county in Virginia and was one of the highest settlements ever in that area.
Kenneth Berman settled a Medical Malpractice case for over two and a half million dollars ($2,500,000.00) involving an allegation of failure to give timely and proper medication to an individual who was hospitalized. Mr. Berman was able to resolve the case shortly before trial against the hospital and its staff for failure to prevent complications, as well as failure to monitor the patient while in the hospital. Both the wife and the children of the patient received substantial amounts of money as a result of the settlement. The specific details of this case have been omitted inasmuch as the settlement was "sealed".
